Origin: India Botanical name: Cassia angustifolia Vahl SENNA LEAF – Frontier Co-op Senna Leaf (Cassia angustifolia Vahl) comes from the Cassia species – one of over 250 species that contain the substance anthraquinone. It is mostly cultivated in Egypt and Sudan but it is used around the world especially in North Africa and Southwest Asia. GREAT FOR TEA – Native to tropical Africa Senna leaf is primarily used to make tea or to enhance other teas. Simply steep ½ teaspoon of Senna leaf with 1 cup of boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Its slightly sweet yet strong and bitter undertones go great with green teas or can be combined with honey to make a special blend.
